A brilliant work. I've read all but 2 of his novels and this is one of the best.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3574898998296059114.post-91998264932464681562009-05-09T09:59:00.000-04:002009-05-09T09:59:00.000-04:00Excellent review Cullen... I'd like to revisit that again, as I've only read it once. For me, the distinction is that in Nightfall the protagonist is an outsider whom fate throws into the hands of the criminal gang. The Burglar seems unique in that band of thieves is the focus. But you're right, Nightfall and Black Friday both have similar plot structures - I think rereading both and comparing might be a fun project to undertake.

And thanks for the too kind words, Patti.Cullen Gallagherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14236957954996740924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3574898998296059114.post-14878792129197895802009-05-08T17:54:00.000-04:002009-05-08T17:54:00.000-04:00Excellent... I have only read Nightfall by Goodis so far, which is another book about a group of thieves and a man who might be part of their gang-- or might not. Let's hope that some fan with a boat load of cash gets a bug up their butt and reprints more of his work.Irenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18078694505194875348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3574898998296059114.post-47396149318994839222009-05-08T17:12:00.000-04:002009-05-08T17:12:00.000-04:00What a lovely review.
